Hey y'all - Grammy Awards - Part 3!!!

This next part starts with President Obama speaking against violence against women, and encouraging artists to use their fame and platform to help end that violence. That is something that should unite us all, right? Then, a survivor of domestic violence comes on stage to share her story. This leads into a performance by Katy Perry of By the Grace of God, which is about surviving an abusive relationship.

Am I supposed to know who the heck these strangers are on this Target sponsored performance? Do you know who it is? Are they done yet? Seriously! Apparently it's Imagine Dragons? I'm supposed to know that?

Now American Idol runner-up Katherine McPhee, fresh off her brilliant performance in Smash and now known more for her acting (?) introduce Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett singing Cheek to Cheek from their duet album. She looks like a cross between Mae West & Jessica Rabbit. Good thing she's overly animated because he's not, but he still sounds great! Aww, he looks like he's dancing with his wild child granddaughter at her wedding. With all her spectacle it can be forgotten that she can actually sing. Jane Fonda is there with someone who looks like he died during Pharrell's performance.

CBS & the Grammys will be honoring the wonderful Stevie Wonder with a special on February 16th. So, tonight, Usher is performing one of Stevie's songs, If It's Magic. He's starting off accompanied by just a harp. No autotune, no dancing, just his voice and the harp. And he sounds good. Too many performers these days rely too much on tricks and production to be a star. If you are a singer, here's a novel idea, how about you just sing. STEVIE!! HARMONICA!! Nice and low key. Hey Chrissy Teigan, spit out your dang gum.

Keith Urban is now on to introduce Dale Gribble, I mean Eric Church, singing Give Me Back My Hometown. This is a great song. Now Brandy Clark with Dwight Yoakam. That's some real good old fashioned country right there. Not a pickup truck or six pack in sight.

Now, Rihanna, Paul McCartney and Kanye West are performing together. Yes, you read that correctly. I can't make this up. FourFiveSeconds is the song and it's catchy as heck. When did RiRi get such a big voice? Actually, she's probably always had it, why haven't they let her use it? Oh stop showing Big Brother Frankie and Kim K. That's the best Live Performance Rihanna has ever given.

Taylor Swift, after giving a Grammy to Sam Smith earlier, now introduces him singing with Mary J. Blige. Yes, another ballad. Sorry y'all haha. He does do upbeat songs I swear. I love the super choir trying to be all hip and snapping. They are like the church choir in every movie. Love Sam's voice and love Mary J., but this was just 2 people singing more than a true duet. Only at the end did they sing together, which sounded great!

Now Gina Rodriguez from Jane the Virgin, which I hear is great, is introducing Latin superstar Juanes singing Juntos. I think I understand more of his lyrics than I did AC/DC. He looks like Sam from True Blood a little bit haha.

Now to present Album of the Year...PRINCE! I love that he looks like a teacher from a 1970s TV special in that hair and caftan and trousers.. I learned that Ed Sheeran's album X is actually pronounced "Multiply". I'm surprised this award isn't last like it usually is. Weird. Beck wins album of the year over the ones I've actually heard songs from. Kanye tried to make a funny and pull a Kanye. Bless his heart. I thought it'd be Beyonce or maybe Sam. At least it wasn't Pharell. How/why does Enrique Iglesias get to present song of the year? If your recent career consists of appearing on records with Pitbull, you have to stay away from the Grammys.

Shia is introducing Sia. He's in the video for her new song. Chandelier is a great song. Sia doesn't show her face when she performs, so that isn't an odd thing. Is that Kristen Wiig? I recognize the girl as that girl on the dancing show with the scary lady who yells at children. Sia is kinda odd like this so just know that for her, it's kinda normal. If I'd never seen her before, I'd think it was crazy as heck though. So mocking it would kinda be like making fun of me for not eating salad. haha

Enrique Iglesias, who used to be kinda cool on the English charts before making crappy songs, presents song of the year to Stay With Me by Sam Smith, a great song. I'm very happy with it. I would have been happy with most of those songs. Ranking: 1) Stay With Me 2) Chandelier 3) Take Me To Church 4) Shake It Off 5) All About That Bass

3 performances, 2 categories, probably will take an hour. I still have Walking Dead to watch! Dave Grohl is here so I'm guessing he's introducing Beck & Chris Martin, but first, a thank you to David Letterman. Aww, sad he's retiring. At least they finally got Jay Leno's unfunny butt off the air. Nice low key performance.

Now, Jamie Foxx and the awesome STEVIE WONDER!! present Record of the Year. Who will it be? Stay With Me? Shake It Off? Chandelier? Fancy (oh I hope not!)? All About That Bass? And the Grammy goes to...Stay With Me!! Good for Sam. Big night for him.

Gwyneth is there, why? At least she's just introducing Beyonce. Let's see how pretentious she will be! But first, Jennifer Hudson introducing something with Grammy bigwigs. It's something about legislation or something. At least she's not singing that horrible weight watchers song again. Now, the parade of those who passed away. It kind of sounds like they have the audience microphone up so you can hear how loud the applause is for each performer. Classy. Hopefully I just misheard it.

Gwyneth only slightly pretentious. Beyonce singing Precious Lord Take My Lord. Beyonce taking it to church but in a low key (for her) sort of way too! Which then leads to John Legend and Common performing their wonderful song from the film Selma which I thought was great and powerful. Let's all look for our common ground and get along based on our similarities and not hate each other due to differences. God Bless Us All. Amen.

Good night everyone!
