Thank You for Being a Friend

Sometimes, I look at my list of Facebook friends to see just how many people I actually know. It turns out, dern near all! I can't believe I know that many people. I guess over 34 1/2 years, you meet a couple of folks. I love how people know me at different stages in my life and see different sides of me. Some, mainly family, have seen me the whole time. Some knew me when I was younger, but we lost touch between graduation & facebook. Some have known me since I was about 14. Some met me in my mid 20s, late 20s, some even met me in my 30s!! I'm thankful for each and every one of my friends. At one time or another I know we have laughed together. With me, laughter is a given. With some of you I have shared, I have listened, I have worried, I have prayed, I have cared.

I'm so thankful to have so many people in my life that I can turn to in a crisis, if needed. I have friends I can laugh or goof around with. I have friends I can hang out with, sing old songs with, talk about movies with. I've had friends I have listened to in good times, bad times, break ups, marriages, babies, love, death, rehab, job loss, job gain. Thank you for letting me into your lives.

If you are/have been my friend, I look forward to keeping our relationship going, even if it is only over the interwebs. If we haven't talked in a while, drop me a line, even if just to say hey. If we still don't know each other all that well, get to know me. I'm really very nice & fun & funny & charming & smart & loyal. Wow, I sound like a cross between a game show host and a Labrador Retriever. Anyway, I'm polite & good folk.

And if you need a friend, I would like to think you can count on me. Right now, my favorite song is "I Run to You" by Lady Antebellum. It's about 2 people in love, but I like to think it can be about friends and how you need someone you can depend on. I don't know how people go through life alone. We aren't built that way.
