Bon Jovi is performing now. Apparently they now want to sound country. His voice has lowered over the years. This is quickly turning into the Jennifer Nettles show. She looks more & more like Kirsten Dunst too. The fan voting thing for the last song was just asinine though.
Seeing Mos’ Def & Placido Domingo together is a bit jarring. But heck, they may hang and brunch together for all I know. I don’t know how famous works. Don’t they all know each other? Run This Town, cool song, wins. It would have been hilarious for I’m On a Boat to win though. I wonder how many people were hoping Kanye was there to accept the award to see if Taylor would go up there and say Lonely Island & T-Pain should have won lol. Yeah, old joke, but I had to say it.
Apparently Rascal Flatts is on CSI this Thursday. Maybe they can kill the pretentiousness and ego from lead singer Gary “LeVox”. It’s not his given last name. He changed it because it’s Latin for “the voice”. Plus all their songs are getting dumb. I used to like them.
Time to have the tribute to Haiti. Andrea Boccelli & Mary J. Blige singing one of my all time favorite songs “Bridge Over Troubled Waters”. It is odd hearing it sung as opera though. Mary J. is working it though. What’s with the pathetic arm waving in the audience though? That looks ridiculous.
I’m liking the DMB performance. I have the Grammy Nominees CD and this song is on there. It’s catchy with some good lyrics. I really loved his dorky dancing too. Haha
Where has Ricky Martin been? He really disappeared after he shook his bon-bon. But Beyonce’ made history just now by winning her 6th Grammy in one night. No woman has ever won that many in one night. But what is with her dress? It looks like she has football pads underneath it. The Pro Bowl is on ESPN, not CBS.
They paced out the show badly. They could have sprinkled in a few more awards instead of some of these performers. Plus, why didn’t Kings of Leon perform? It’s been forever since they handed out an award. Maxwell performed with Roberta Flack, nice but a little snoozy for late in the show. Then a cool Les Paul tribute but without huge names. Now Drake is performing with Eminem, Lil Wayne, and Travis Barker, so that’s kinda cool I guess. I think they only have Album of the Year left to give out. Finally the last award. Is Lady GaGa wearing shingles? Anyway, Tay Tay won. Sorry Pendergrass. Life is rough. Snowed in and Tay Tay won.
OK it was a decent awards show. Lady Antebellum was awesome, Beyonce was great, Lady GaGa was good, P!nk was interesting. But it felt like an hour between awards. C’mon, I know performances are important, but trot out some hardware too. We want to see how people get ticked off when they lose. I live for that. Plus, LET KINGS OF LEON PERFORM NEXT TIME!!
